DO PS2 GAMES FROM EUROPE WORK IN THE UNITED STATES???

hi, i recently discovered that a game i would like to play (free running) was released in europe for ps2 but not in the U.S. my question is if i purchase the european version, will i be able to run it on my ps2 in the united states? thanks in advance for all the help.

    No it wont, unless you have a device to change the signal from PAL to NTSC attached to your tv, there is a cable also that does that, or if you have a modchip installed in your psa that can read pal games.

    I didn’t even know they made a PS2 game of that. It’s been a PSP game for a while, also never releasing in the states. :\

    Anyway, the sad answer is that NO, UK Ps2 games will NOT work on a US PS2. Ps2 games are region coded. Even if you broke the region coding with a software or hardware hack, you’d still need a TV capable of receiving a PAL signal, or a signal converter in order to even see/hear it.

    It really sucks that games are region coded on all the console Playstations. Fortunately, though, the PSP games are NOT region coded (UMD movies are, though). It’s possible to get a UK or Japanese PSP game
    and play it on a US or AU PSP. I have Free Running for my PSP, even though it’s the UK version. If you have a PSP, you could get it for that. The PS2 game looks like pretty much the same game, but with higher
    res graphics.

    umm no becuase if u say a pal on the game it will only work on non us console if don’t say it then it a yes don’t count on every time
