New Games

I just picked up 2 new games this weekend. THe first was Splashdown Rides gone wild. This is an incredible game. The water graphics are like REAL! The tricks have been upgraded from the last version and look cool. The only drawback I feel is that you have to do tricks to go faster than with out doing them to fill up your meter. Also its only 40 bucks. But I got a pre-owned at 36 plus my EB discount went down to 27 plus tax.

The other game is Chaos Legion. It is nothing like Legion the legend of excalibur. This game is made by the makers of the devil may cry (I think only the first one…maby not). Anyone else pick this game up. I bought it new but I had to trade in my copy of contra (it had been scratched very badly and they sold it to me «new»). This game is so fluid yet I have only played the first 3 levels and have died a few times. ITs is so freakin hard sometimes. Now i figured out why you can actually use the items you picked up (very confusing as the tutorial doesn’t tell you how and I should have read the book and looked like a dork before playing the game). I think this will take a few play throughs to get down everything and kick serious tail also there are multiple legions you can level up so you can have 5 sword men beside you fighting with all leveled up stats and all. I think it is a great game I have been waiting for it to come out
I read reviews and I picked it up and it lives up to my expectations.

How do i configure my PS2 so that i can play on-line games

I have a dail up internet conection in my home and a Ps2 but i am facing difficulties in trying to connect to the web via the ps2. Can somebody please help ?
Any assistance will be deeply appreciated.

- With the PS2 (fat) you need the Network Adapter. Do you have that? If so, did you get the software? If you have a PS2 slim, then I think it might have the networking/modem built in.
In either case, each game that supports dial-up modem access to online games has a set up routine built in, which will let you configure the connection, from the number it dials, to any login information required.
So, which version of the PS2 do you have, fat or slim? What game are you wanting to play online?

- Most game’s DO NOT support Dial up modem connection’s, unless that dial-up connection is a DSL Line. If not then you will not be able to play game’s online.
The game itself if it has the option for online play should have a menu item that will allow you to setup the Network adapter for modem play.
Again however if you DO NOT have some sort of High Speed connection via DSL, Cable Modem then you will not be able to play game’s online.

PS3 questions

We have a DVR cable box, a JVC surround with DVD and now the PS3 and we are having fits trying to figure out how to get the sound hooked up so all will play through the surround system. There don’t appear to be enough ports to have digital sound from both the cable and the PS3 to the JVC. I know there has to be a way to do this but I am at a loss other than hunting for a digital port Y cable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have read all of the posts on the PS3 posted here and learned a lot but still have a few more questions before we decide to purchase one. In reading the Sony site it says in one place that you can use component cable connections for HD (ypbpr2) and then in another place it says for blue ray disks to play you must use HDMI connections. Our HD TV does not show HDMI in the manual, I have not twisted myself into a pretzel to look at the back to see if in fact one does exist that they haven’t mentioned in the manual. The TV is 2 years old so it really may not have one. Can you actually play blue ray movies using the component cable hook up? If not then there is no point in even thinking about getting a PS3 until we upgrade the TV.

I bought a PS2

I sent a post just before Christmas but maybe people were a bit busy then? :) So I am trying a second time…

I bought a PS2 but to my great disappointment my PS1 games doesn’t work. Ok, they work…the picture is perfect BUT there is no sound! On one of them there is sound in the beginning (intro) but not inside the game.

Anyone who has experienced this before and can give me some advice on what to do? Is it my games or the console?

- Well try another game for u ps2 if sound the same then see if u can take it back to trade it for a new or something it sound like u have a bad ps2 i get ps3 i really don’t deal ps1 games i don’t know if this works.

- do you have any cords that plug into the t.v of you do try unpluging them and pluging them back in again make sure you have the yellow plug in the slot and have the white plug in the slot.

- I might have been a bit vague? The sound and picture is working perfectly with all the PS2 games, it is just on the PS1 games there is no sound :)

I expect an imperfectly alligned platter has scratched their surface. You can get your discs buffed at many games/video shops or buy your own disc buffer. Skip Doctor or Disc Doctor I think they’re called. Get the one that is mains powered or accepts rechargeable batteries as they are reputed to be heinous users of juice. On rare occasions I have heard that some faulty lasers can cause minor burns (which grow worse with repeated play) while they read the
discs. HTH
